Experienced counselling for all of life's difficulties
Hi, my name is Sian and I am a Person-Centred counsellor, based in Southampton. I provide compassionate counselling services for those in need. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where my clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings, and can develop the skills they need to thrive.
Sometimes, life can get overwhelming and speaking with friends and family doesn't seem enough anymore. As much as they care about you, loved ones may try to change the way you feel in an attempt to rescue you.
That may offer momentary relief, but it doesn’t get to the core or root of what’s going on for you.
Counselling is different because you get to talk to someone who isn't there to rescue you. It's a space where you are able to feel safe to explore your feelings, without the concern of how it may impact on the other person. Counselling can help you overcome personal challenges and achieve your goals.
I provide an accepting, understanding and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behaviour, and develop strategies for positive change.
No issue is too big or too small. If you are struggling with issues such as stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorder, addiction, family issues or breakdown, bereavement, relationship problems, difficulties in your childhood, past/present abuse, bullying, domestic violence or you are repeating patterns that you can't make sense of, sharing your thoughts and feelings with me could help.
Other issues may include feeling helpless or hopeless, panic, fear, irritability, guilt, shame. Maybe you are having difficulty concentrating, outbursts of rage or violence, poor sleep patterns, dissociation or withdrawal, or dealing with agoraphobia, risk taking behaviour, compulsivity, mood swings or problems at work. Any struggles that have a negative impact on your well-being and sense of self can get in the way of joy and pleasure and your very sense of life and vitality.
Counselling can help young people overcome a range of challenges, including anxiety, exam anxiety, feeling low, depression, behavioural issues, low self-esteem, low self-worth, school refusal, friendship issues or family issues, and more. I have vast experience with working with young people, and the way in which I work helps children and teens develop coping skills, improve self-esteem, and achieve greater success in school and other areas of life.
